Let’s Talk: National Guard in DC

First things first, please understand that what’s happening in the District currently is NOT about Safety. No matter what any Mayor or news reporter wants the people to believe. What the President has planned for this city has nothing to do with our well-being.

This is all about CONTROL and POWER.

The topic of Cities and States becoming increasingly police-oriented is nothing new. Things like the #StopCopCity campaign and the heavy increase in ICE everywhere in the country have shown that times are getting extremely tense with the clash of law enforcement in urban areas.

This occurrence has been met with multiple protests and people speaking out in resistance to this for the last few years.

If you are in DC currently, the best thing to do is to steer clear of any police presence. Which is (obviously) easier said than done. But if you must, please stay as far away as you can. Avoid high-activity areas like the National Mall, U Street, and the Navy Yard area.

Keep your head on a swivel and be aware of your surroundings. These officers are not here to negotiate.

And above all else, please stay safe.
